A few weeks ago, our EVP of Engineering and CTO, Scott Davis, jetted out to Santa Clara, California to speak at the 21st Cloud Expo conference. The conference – held twice a year in New York and California – covers a wide range of topics, including cloud computing, digital transformation, microservices, DevOps and more. For organizations integrating cloud computing into their IT development and operations, these are important topics to understand and discuss with industry peers and experts.
Scott’s individual session, “The CMP 2.0: Bringing Automation, Orchestration and Governance to Cloud Native Apps and DevOps” explored how next-generation CMPs will evolve from their IaaS base of managing virtual infrastructure to more of a cloud native application focus; ensuring organizations can manage cloud-native and microservice-based application architectures, while also facilitating agile DevOps methodology. As he explained to attendees, through providing automation, orchestration and governance for next generation applications, organizations can better manage hybrid cloud environments and deliver services faster, with better user experience and higher quality, all while saving money.
Scott also participated in a keynote panel, “Speed, Quality, Impact – Building Success on the Three Foundations of DevOps,” alongside experts from CA Technologies, Microsoft and Red Hat. The group discussed how DevOps adoption goes hand in hand with Microservices/Cloud Native Apps as well as various strategies for leading organizations to adopt DevOps techniques in a thoughtful manner in order to deliver application successfully with greater speed, higher quality and better user experience.. It was a great way to close out the event.
