OTTAWA, Ontario – August 14, 2014 – Embotics Corporation, a leading provider of enterprise-class Cloud Management Software, today announced that in the past year it has been awarded five new patents (US 8,661,548, US 8,732,705, US 8,661,439, US 8,549,313, 8,555,238) from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and one new patent (CA 2,659,141) from the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO).
Embotics has been granted 16 patents in total across the US, Canada, UK, France, and Germany, in addition to seven additional pending patent applications. The company has been steadily building its patent portfolio for over ten years to protect its products and innovations.
“Embotics was one of the first market entrants focused on managing next generation IT environments that leverage virtualization and cloud-based architectures,” said Jay Litkey, Founder and President of Embotics. “Recognizing that this market would become extremely competitive someday, our strategy from the beginning was to build value through our Intellectual Property (IP)—our investments continue in this area.”
The primary technology areas protected by the Embotics’ patents include the management and security of virtual machines and virtual appliances, workload migration, intercloud management, and systems management automation, leveraging autonomic principles for both virtualized and non-virtualized compute environments.
“Our firm specializes in helping companies build intellectual property portfolios of high value,” said Victoria Donnelly, President of IP-MEX Inc. “We have been collaborating with Embotics Corporation for many years to help create their comprehensive family of patents and to establish a significant competitive advantage for the company.”
“We will continue to innovate and invest R&D resources into advancing the Embotics vCommander™1 software platform for our enterprise and service provider customers,” said Michael Torto, Chief Executive Officer of Embotics. “vCommander software continues to be the choice for an easy-to-use, vendor-neutral Cloud Management Platform (CMP) that automates provisioning and enables self-service IT.”
Embotics’ 100+ clients now include such high profile organizations as NASA, Cisco, Charter Communications, Cablevision, McKinsey & Company, Jabil Circuit, and Peak 10. One of Embotics’ largest deployments now provides federated management of close to 30 globally distributed data centers.
