Embotics Commander 7.5 Delivers Improved Self-Service Capabilities and Enhanced Support for Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform
Ottawa, ON – DATE TBD, 2019 - Embotics®, the hybrid infrastructure management company, today introduced the new version of its award-winning Commander platform. To meet the demands of today’s organizations, Embotics Commander 7.5 empowers users with improved self-service automation capabilities and enhanced support for Kubernetes and the Google Cloud Platform (GCP.)
New updates to Commander help organizations more effectively manage resources across complex hybrid cloud infrastructure. For GCP, this includes end-to-end service request automation, costing, reporting and self-service portal access. Commander’s single-pane-of-glass view of hybrid and multi-cloud environments also supports Google Cloud Deployment Manager, allowing users to manage all aspects of the GCP deployment lifecycle in Commander.
Additionally, Commander 7.5 expands support for managing Kubernetes resources. Users can assign the ownership of a Kubernetes namespace to one or more users or groups and have enhanced capabilities around viewing, applying, modifying and deleting Kubernetes resources.
Other notable enhancements include:
- Enhanced Security: Users can log into the Commander admin console using SAML SSO, which includes multi-factor authentication;
- Improved User Experience: Users can add dynamic drop-down lists to forms to retrieve real-time values from third party systems, removing the need to manually pre-configure list values; and
- REST API Enhancements: Commander 7.5 expands version 3 of Commander’s REST API, adding the abilities to browse, get properties of and delete virtual machines (VM) and VM images.
“Organizations are managing more complex environments than ever before – from multiple cloud resources to traditional on-premise infrastructures and applications. That’s why it’s critical for cloud management platforms to support enterprises’ holistic needs and solve the hybrid technology and process challenges that companies actually face,” said Michael Torto, CEO of Embotics. “We’re proud to deliver the only hybrid cloud management platform that enables organizations to get the most out of their on-premise and public cloud environments, and move closer to our vision of automating the full stack of infrastructure management.”
